Internet search company Google recently announced 24 cities, including nine Atlanta communities, were all under consideration for fiber Internet service provided by Google Fiber back in February of this year. Those towns and cities include Atlanta, Avondale Estates, Brookhaven, College Park, Decatur, East Point, Hapeville, Sandy Springs and Smyrna.

“We want to share our excitement with the Atlanta community,” said Southern Web President Drew Barton, “and to show Google that there is a definite interest in bringing fiber Internet to our city.”

This graphic highlights several positives of the ultra high-speed service, including general customer savings, home value increases, better access for local schools and libraries and, of course, the fastest speeds currently available in the United States for Internet connections.

The graphic was a joint project headed by graphic artist Ron Griffel, content strategist Ryan Watkins and Southern Web’s Director of Internet Marketing Cullie Burris.
